High flying Odisha registered a thrilling one-wicket win over hosts Haryana on the fourth and last day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group-C match at Chaudhary Bansilal Cricket Stadium in Rohtak today. This was the fourth win for Odisha, who maintained their place at the top of the group table with 28 points from five matches.
Pace bowler Suryakant Pradhan was the architect of the Odisha win, returning with a career-best match haul of 11 wickets for 122 runs, including six for 36 in the first innings. He was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Among other notable Odisha performers, Biplab Samantray stood out with a responsible knock of 52 (116 balls, 4x8) in the first innings. This was the 21st first-class fifty of Biplab, who also has six hundreds to his name.
